JOIN US AS Executive Director

Seaview Community Development Corporation (SCDC) Bridgeport, Connecticut – Part-Time (Approx. 40 hrs/month)

The Opportunity

We are seeking a visionary, committed, and community-centered Executive Director to lead Seaview’s efforts in developing and managing an affordable housing project in Bridgeport. As the sole staff member, the Executive Director will report directly to the Board of Directors and play a pivotal role in fulfilling our mission.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead end-to-end development of housing initiatives—from acquisition through construction to occupancy.
  • Oversee financial operations, annual budgeting, and ensure compliance with GAAP and all regulatory standard
  • Build and manage fundraising strategies to support operational and project-based needs
  • Represent SCDC in the business, nonprofit, and governmental community with integrity and professionalism.
  • Keep the Board informed and engaged through timely reporting and strategic insights.

What You Bring

  • Minimum 5 years of nonprofit management and 3 years in community/economic development.
  • Proven experience in housing development, construction management, lead remediation, and securing public/private funding.
  • Strategic thinking, clear communication, and an inclusive leadership style.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field—or equivalent professional experience.

Work Schedule

This is a flexible, part-time position (approx. 40 hours/month). Evening availability is required for monthly Board meetings (second Monday), along with regular engagement with the Executive Committee.
